When I was a kid I didn’t believe in Santa Claus. I believed in the United States of America. To me, the Founding Fathers were perfect men, the United States military was composed of 1.8 million demigods, and every day was the Fourth of July. M
y opinions have matured a bit since then, but the core of my love for country has remained constant.
Around the time I discovered my love for America I also discovered my love for drawing, and it didn’t take me long to realize that my skill with a pen and paper far surpassed my skill with a word processor. Ever since, I have endeavored to express my ideas with pictures.
I love drawing. I love America. I love the Big Man upstairs. This blog is basically the result of putting these three elements into a petri dish and letting them brew for a few years. The result may be a diverse group of eukaryotic single-celled organisms, or it could be a piece of smoked gouda aged to perfection, best served with a glass of 1776 Merlot. My hope is that you will find my work thought-provoking, insightful, profound and maybe, just maybe, a bit humorous.

Pat, you should syndicate your cartoons, working for a major paper. You’re witty and spot on, and your drawings are terrifically good. Have you pitched these to the Wall Street Journal or Spectator or The Weekly Standard. So grateful to learn of this gold mine you’ve been hiding. Best of luck in the New Year! TREMENDOUS WORK! Just read the super article in the National Catholic Register: Your genius cartoons speak more than a thousand words can say. =Complex ideas communicated in seconds. Humor intact. If this is what you can produce at the tender age of only 24ish, you will go miles. Serious talent… like Calvin & Hobbes + the Far Side mixed with Sacred Art. Loved the touch by your Dad, who said they would hear you up at midnight as a little kid, reading and chuckling. Hope you go as far in life as luck & God will allow.
